CORF Announces OHV Safety Week

Kick Off

The celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the OHMVR Program is proceeding in a socially distant manner consistent with State of California  guidelines developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this does not diminish the tremendous successes the program has achieved in 50 years of operations.

In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary, CORF has partnered with the ATV Safety Institute and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association to offer free safety training.

How to get Free ATV Training

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the OHMVR Program in California, free ATV training is available during Safety Week for ages 6 and up.

To enroll, contact the ATV Safety Institute (ASI) at (800) 887-2887.  Bring your age appropriate ATV and riding gear: DOT approved helmet, goggles, full fingered gloves, long sleeved shirt or jersey, long pants and over the ankle boots.  Age recommendations found in your Owner’s manual or attached to your ATV will be followed.  Examples of age stickers are:

As a prerequisite for taking this hands-on training all riders must complete the online E-Course found at https://cbt.svia.org/login/index.php. Please bring your Completion Certificate to the class.

 

How to get Free ROV Training

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the OHMVR Program in California, free training for driving Recreational Off Highway Vehicles (ROV), commonly referred to as Side by Sides, is available during Safety Week for ages 16 and up with a valid driver’s license.
